Adam Fischer turns 70
Conductor Adam Fischer turns 70 on 9 September. Dacapo wishes Happy Birthday and offers a 70% discount on releases from his time as Principal Conductor of the Danish National Chamber Orchestra.
The Hungarian-born Adam Fischer originates from Budapest and began his studies of conducting and composition at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of his home town. Further studies were completed with the legendary Hans Swarovsky in Vienna.
From 1998-2013 he was Principal Conductor of the Danish National Chamber Orchestra in Copenhagen, with which he focused primarily on the Mozart repertoire. Other than the complete symphonies were also the operas Mitridate, Lucio Silla and Idomeneo recorded and released to great acclaim.
Today the orchestra continues as The Danish Chamber Orchestra, and Adam Fischer is still the Principal Conductor and a strong initiator of the orchestra's work and concert activities. Since 2015/2016 he has also been the Principal Conductor of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker.
