James Black curates playlist
James Black has curated a playlist with the musical influences that i.a. form the basis of their new release Music Is Not Always Participatory.
In late January this year, composer James Black's album Music Is Not Always Participatory was released – an album that is festooned with Black’s musical fingerprints – Roman Catholic hymnody, computer game music, 'a kind of techno-pagan trash-folk'.
To mark the release of Music Is Not Always Participatory, Dacapo Records invited James Black to curate a playlist of their musical influences. The playlist is a mix of past and present, pop and classical – and just like the album, showcases James' eclectic approach to music.
