Giordano Bellincampi

Mr. Bellincampi was born in Rome in 1965, but has lived in Denmark since 1976. He was trained at the Royal Danish Music Academy in Copenhagen, studying both bass trombone and conducting with Jorma Panula. Bellincampi has had an active career as an orchestral musician in the Royal Danish Orchestra, Copenhagen, among others. In August 1994, he made his conducting debut with the Odense Symphony Orchestra, and subsequently has been a regular guest with all major Danish orchestras. He has been Chief Conductor of the Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen and the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra. Abroad, Giordano Bellincampi is also a sought after conductor and has among others conducted leading orchestras in USA, Asia, Sweden, Norway, Italy and Russia. In February 1997, he made his operatic debut at the Danish National Opera in Aarhus and in 2000 at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. In September 2005 Giordano Bellincampi took up the position of General Music Director of the Danish National Opera.

For Dacapo Giordano Bellincampi has recorded Vagn Holmboes 10 Preludes with the Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen, H.C. Lymbye's works with the Tivoli Symphony Orchestra, Weyse's The Sleeping Draught with the Danish Radio Sinfonietta, orchestral works by Poul Schierbeck with Odense Symphony Orchestra and works by Fini Henriques with Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.
