Vienna Philharmonic to record music by Danish composer Rued Langgaard
On 14 and 15 April one of the best orchestras in the world, the Vienna Philharmonic, will play two concerts in Vienna featuring music by Danish composer Rued Langgaard. The Vienna Philharmonic's recordings of two symphonies by Langgaard as well as Jacob Gade's Tango Jalousie will be released by Dacapo later this year.
The Vienna Philharmonic is one of the absolutely most profiled and acclaimed symphony orchestras in the world, and in April they will perform the 6th Symphony by Danish composer Rued Langgaard (1893-1952) at two concerts.

Rued Langgaard's 6th Symphony will be recorded at the two concerts and hereby the Vienna Philharmonic's recording of a CD with Rued Langgaard's second and sixth symphonies as well as the orchestral work Upaaagtede Morgenstjerner will be completed. The CD will also contain Jacob Gade's world famous piece Tango Jalousie from 1925 and will be released in autumn 2018.
The recordings of Rued Langgaard's Symphonies No. 2 and 6 are a continuation of Dacapo's colaboration with the Vienna Philharmonic on the premiere recordings of Per Nørgårds Symphonies No. 1 and 8 that was released in 2014 and won the Gramophone Award for BEST CONTEMPORARY RECORDING in 2015.
