Niels Otto Raasted (1888-1966) was one of the leading Danish church musicians of his time. He studied organ and composition in Leipzig with Karl Straube and Max Reger, respectively, and continued to pay homage to his German teachers throughout his career. These world première recordings of Raasted's solo violin sonatas reveal the composer's idiomatic neo-baroque style, beautifully modeled on all violinists' Bible\, the solo suites by Johann Sebastian Bach.
