  • EMP RMX 333 – a tribute to Else Marie Pade (1924–2016)

'The first sound is set in motion, is caught up by the next, which is caught up by the next, etc., in a powerful crescendo.' In 1961, Else Marie Pade (1924–2016) wrote the tape composition Etude, which was met with greater excitement among reviewers than electronic music in general at the time. The length of the piece is 333 seconds, and as a tribute to Else Marie Pade 11 artists have remixed Etude on this CD – all 11 remixes with the same length as the original. The results are greatly diverse, but all show the inspiration from Danish electronic music's greatest pioneer, who insisted that all sounds are equally valid.

  • Aquarellen über das Meer; Illustrations

With this CD we are presenting another two works by Else Marie Pade (b. 1924) that have never before been released, or even played in a concert. They are a mainly acoustic piece, Aquarellen über das Meer I-XXI and the all-electronic Illustrations. Although so far several CDs of Else Marie Pade's music have been released, there are still new experiences ahead before we have a full overview of her pioneering musical efforts.
  • Face It

Else Marie Pade (b. 1924) is one of the pioneers of electronic music in Denmark. From the beginning of the 1950s, she, in close co-operation with technicians and assistants on Radio Denmark, produced a substantial amount of concrete and electronic music, partly in the shape of independent works for radio broadcasts, partly in the shape of accompaniments to various radio dramas. So far, the music has only existed on tapes in the archives of the Danish Radio; this CD is thus the first ever musical documentation of her work.
