Eichberg's piano-focused works to be performed at free concert

On Wednesday 14 August pianist Emil Gryesten and ensemble play a selection of Søren Nils Eichberg's works to celebrate a new release.The concert takes place in Christian's Church in Copenhagen and there is free entrance.

“The piano is my instrument,” says Søren Nils Eichberg; “I am led by my fingers.” 

On August 14 at 20.00 the release of pianist Emil Gryesten's recordings of Danish/German composer Søren nils Eichberg's piano-focused works spanning the decade from 2002. These were pivotal years for Eichberg, coming directly after his victory in the composing discipline of the 2001 Queen Elisabeth Competition.

On the new album – as well as at this release concert – both works for solo piano and works for ensemble with a focus on the piano, are performed. Emil Gryesten has gathered a team of friends to accampany him, including Therese Andersen, violin, Thea Jørgensen, bratsch and Johan Krarup, cello.

The programme features the solo piano piece Nofretete, Scherben – 19 etudes-postludes and the piano quartet Natsukusa-Ya.

There is free entrance to the concert, and the new CD kan be purchased at a special price this night.

After the concert Edition Wilhelm Hansen and Dacapo invite for a glass of wine and celebration of the new release.
