Johnny van Hal

    Johnny van Hal (tenor) was born in 1960 in Leiden in Holland, but moved at an early age to Sweden, where he trained at the conservatoire in Malmö and the Theatre and Opera Academy in Gothenburg. His teachers included Dorothy Irving, Hans Johansson, Harald Ek and Kirsten Buhl-Møller. He has also attended master classes with singers like Birgit Nilsson, Berith Lindholm, Thomas Hemsley and Julia Hamari. Since 1992 he has been with the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen.
