Eva Feldbæk

organ
Eva Feldbæk was a pupil of the famous Danish interpreter of Bach and Buxtehude, Finn Viderø. Further organ studies followed with Finn Reiff, and piano with Elisabeth Klein, one of the leading interpreters of contemporary music. Since 1973 she has been organist at Vestkirken in Ballerup. Eva Feldbæk performs extensively, frequently presenting new music, and has played often on Danish radio. She has commissioned and premiered many new works by Danish composers (A. Borup-Jørgensen, P. Gudmundsen-Holmgreen, Ib Nørholm, Tage Nielsen, Steen Pade and others), including works for organ solo as well as chamber music with the organ in unusual combinations, such as with percussion, with harp, with synthesizer and for two organists. Starting in 1987, Eva Feldbæk has several times each year performed J. S. Bach's Die Kunst der Fuge in its entirery on various organs, modern instruments as well as organs built on historic principles (recorded on Helikon HCD 1014/5).
