Deda Cristina Colonna

Deda Cristina Colonna graduated in ballet at Civico Istituto Musicale Brera (Novara) and from Ecole Supérieure d’Études Chorégraphiques (Paris). She holds a maîtrise from the Sorbonne, specializing in Renaissance and Baroque Dance, and a diploma from the acting school of Teatro Stabile di Genova. She has staged and/or choreographed over 25 operas; among others Vivaldi’s Ottone in Villa at Copenhagen Opera Festival, nomi- nated for the Reumert Award for Best Opera 2014, and Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea and Gesualdo – Shadows at The Royal Opera/Takkelloftet, Copenhagen. Deda has taught baroque dance, gesture and acting for over 25 years as well as courses and master classes at various institutions in Italy and abroad. In 2014 she was Guest Visiting Professor at University of Stockholm on the research project Performing Premodernity.
