Christian Voigt

Christian Voigt (tenor) was born in Berlin and trained at the Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule in 1990-95. He has attended master classes with, among others, Peter Schreier, and has been admitted to Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau's Lieder class in Berlin. He was a prizewinner in 1995 at the Sixth International Mozart Competition in Salzburg. As a concert singer he has performed at the Berlin Schauspielhaus, with the choir of the Deutsche Staatsoper and the Staatskapelle Berlin. On CD he has sung in Schubert/Denisov's Lazarus with Helmuth Rilling, and in 1998 he is engaged for concerts and CD recordings in Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris with Philippe Herreweghe and the Chapelle Royale, as well as a Lieder concert at the Schubertiade Feldkirchen and as a soloist with Nikolaus Harnoncourt in Schumann's Das Paradies und die Peri.
