ÆTLA ['atla] is a vocal ensemble and artists’ collective whose name, rooted in Icelandic and Faroese, means ‘to intend’ or ‘to strive’. This pursuit defines the very essence of the group: a persistent search for musical consequence and an urgency to create work that resonates on a deeply human level.

While firmly grounded in the traditions of classical song, the collective also draws on professional experience in composition, performance, text, movement, and visual art.
