Astrid Nordstad

The Norwegian mezzo-soprano Astrid Nordstad was educated at the Royal Opera Academy in Copenhagen and in her second year she sang Flora in La traviata, conducted by Pier Giorgio Morandi. In 2017 she sang the title role in The Rape of Lucretia at the Takkelloft stage at the Royal Danish Opera. She has also performed as The Mother in the Danish national romantic piece Elverskud by Niels Wilhelm Gade. In 2018 she performed as Flora at the Trondheim Opera, and since joining the soloist ensemble at the Norwegian Opera in 2018 she has had roles such as Gianetta in L’elisir d’amore, Dido inDido and Aeneas, Majsa in Pique Dame, Magdalena in Rigoletto and Magdalena in Meistersinger. In 2019 Astrid Nordstad made her debut at Ringsaker Opera as Rosina in Il Barbiere de Sevilla.
