Elisabeth Halling

Elisabeth Halling has a diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen, and in 1992 she
completed her education at the Royal Opera Academy with Susanna Eken and Bodil Gümoes. In addition she has studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She made her début at the Royal Danish Opera, Copenhagen as Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, and became a member of the Opera’s soloists ensemble in 1992. She has sung roles such as Rosina in The Barber of Seville, Flora (La Traviata), Emilia (Otello), Linetta (The Love of Three Oranges), Mercédès (Carmen), Kate Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly), Sara in contemporary Danish composer Niels Rosing-Schow’s The Verdict, Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Meg Page (Falstaff), 2nd Lady (The Magic Flute), Dryade (Ariadne auf Naxos), Gianetta (L’Elisir d’Amore) and Grimgerde (Die Walküre). Besides her performances at the Royal Danish Opera, Elisabeth Halling has been a frequent guest with all the Danish orchestras and has appeared regularly in TV and radio broadcasts.
