Symfoni nr. 2 & 6
Rued Langgaards største succeser fandt sted i Tyskland og Østrig, hvor bl.a. hans Symfoni nr. 2 og 6 blev tiljublet. Hjemme oplevede han aldrig den form for opbakning. Tværtimod gik hans position i Danmark fra slem til værre, og han døde som et forgræmmet og desperat menneske, stort set uden støtter i dansk musikliv. Med Wiener Filharmonikerne under ledelse af Sakari Oramo kan man her høre Langgaards musik “vende hjem” til den centraleuropæiske musikkultur, der på mange måder lå ham nærmere end det antiromantiske Danmark, han levede i. Hør også Jacob Gades legendariske Tango Jalousie blive spillet Wiener Filharmonikerne.
