Göran Eliasson

Göran Eliasson trained at the Swedish University College of Opera in Stockholm, and made his debut in the mid-1990s on the Swedish opera stages. He has sung at the Royal Swedish Opera, the Gothenburg Opera and the historic Drottningholm Palace Theatre. Göran Eliasson is increasingly appearing abroad, for example at the Opera in Cologne. He has sung a number of roles in operas from the twentieth century, including Janacek’s The Makropoulos Affair, Macheath in Weill’s Dreigroschenoper and Alva in Alban Berg’s Lulu. Eliasson is also a busy concert singer, and has appeared under conductors like Simon Rattle, Antonio Pappano and Vladimir Jurowski. His CD appearances include Schnittke’s Symphony no. 2 and J.G. Naumann’s eighteenth-century Gustav Wasa.
