Den Schlesiske Strygekvartet

The Polish string quartet The Silesian String Quartet was formed in 1978 and since then has established itself as one of Europe's leading contemporary music ensembles. The quartet has more than a thousand concerts to its name and has played at festivals throughout most of the world. The Silesian String Quartet has won many awards, both for its concert activities and for several of the almost 30 CDs it has recorded over the years. Since 2005 the quartet has been supported by the local government in Gliwice with a regular base in the city's music theatre.
