Mauro Patricelli, an Italian-born composer, has resided in Denmark since 2007, collaborating with numerous ensembles and soloists across genres. Additionally, he has been active in the music theatre scene, creating four documentary operas; most recently, Bella Ballerina, produced by the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR), in 2022, and Skattegraveren (The Treasure Hunter), performed at the Royal Danish Theatre, in 2019, and nominated for the Reumert Award in the category of Best Special Production the same year. Mauro Patricelli’s works fall into two main categories: ethnographic works based on re-interpretations of folk music traditions, such as the documentary operas Dansejæger (Dance Hunter), Skattegraveren , and Bella Ballerina as well as post-minimalism-inspired works like Paradiddle Rondo and Miniature Riffs.
