Jens Krogsgaard Jensen was a rock singer and guitarist until he began at the age of 25 to train in the classical repertoire. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, making his debut as a soloist in March 1996. In addition Jens Krogsgaard Jensen studied privately with Professor Werner Hollweg in Freiburg. In 1995 Jens Krogsgaard Jensen was awarded the HN Prize by the foundation Familien Hede Nielsens Fond. As a Lieder and oratorio singer Jens Krogsgaard Jensen has performed all over the country with a repertoire that includes Händel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation, the requiems of Mozart and Verdi, Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin and Dichterliebe by Schumann. In the autumn of 1996 Jens Krogsgaard Jensen sang Tom Rakewell in the Danish National Opera’s production of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress.
