Singe die Gärten

Per Nørgård

Singe die Gärten

Ars Nova Copenhagen, Danish Chamber Players, Tamás Vetö

★★★★★ “Totally committed. Exemplary intonation” BBC Music Magazine

Per Nørgård is one of the most significant Danish composers after Carl Nielsen and Vagn Holmboe. With his original works, his teaching and his theoretical innovations, Nørgård has been the most striking musical Nordic personality for more than thirty years. He has written works of all sizes, from operas to simple choral songs. Since the ensemble Vocal Group Ars Nova was founded in 1979 it has co-operated closely with Nørgård on first performances and recordings of many of his choral works, and the present CD features new fruits of this collaboration between the composer and the ensemble.
