Piano Concerto no. 4

Niels Viggo Bentzon's enormous musical output has long since resulted in a catalogue of legendary dimensions. The main emphasis is in instrumental music, especially music for and with piano, and the forth Piano Concerto is one of the major of this kind. However, symphonies and other orchestral music for the full orchestra also form an important part of the opus list. These include the distinctive Five Mobiles, dating from the period around 1960, when Bentzon consciously worked to modernize his tonal idiom.
