Bára Gísladóttir is performing 'HĪBER' for the first time on KLANG Festival
On Friday 28 May at 20.00 in Copenhagen, Bára Gísladóttir is to give the first performance of her work HĪBER which was released on Dacapo last year.
In 2020, Bára Gísladóttir's debut album for Dacapo was released with the intimate solo album HĪBER. The work, which consists of eight movements, is composed for electronics and double bass, and is performed by the 31-year-old Icelandic composer and double bassist herself.
Since the release, the album has received warm praise and has been nominated for the Icelandic Kraumur Music Prize, selected for the English new music blog 5:4's list of the 40 best albums of 2020 and named the Classical Album of the Year by the Icelandic newspaper Morgunblaðið.
Now one can experience the first live performance of HĪBER, as Gísladóttir is performing the work as a part of this year's KLANG Festival programme. The concert takes place at Literaturhaus in Copenhagen on Friday 28 May at 20.00.
