Palle Knudsen

Palle Knudsen (baritone) concluded his studies at the Opera Academy in Copenhagen in 1998 and since 1999 has been a member of the soloist ensemble at the Royal Danish Opera, where he achieved great success in his first season as Papageno in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. In 2003 he sang Don Giovanni at the Glimmerglass Opera in New York and was immediately afterwards engaged to sing Guglielmo in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, a role for which he was also engaged at the Pittsburgh Opera in 2006. Palle Knudsen appears regularly as a concert singer in masses and oratorios and is a frequently used soloist with Scandinavian orchestras. In 1999 Palle Knudsen won the Veuve Clicquot Prize, in 2002 he was awarded the Gladsaxe Music Prize, and in 2006 he received the grant Holger Bruusgaards Legat.
