Tjenerindens Fortælling
Tjenerindens Fortælling er baseret på en af de mest spændende og foruroligende romaner i moderne tid, nemlig Margaret Atwoods bog af samme navn. Operaen er en grotesk og futuristisk historie om et fundamentalistisk og kvindehadsk samfund, hvor få mennesker er frugtbare. Det er en historie om kærlighed, magt og flugt fra et radikalt, højreorienteret regime. Librettoen er skrevet på grundlag af romanen og oversat til dansk af Poul Ruders. Operaen er komponeret for stort orkester, orgel og operakor. Tjenerindens Fortælling er indspillet live i samarbejde med Danmarks Radio og Det Kgl. Teater i forbindelse med en række aftenforestillinger i foråret 2000.
