Louis Glass

Piano Works

Nina Gade, piano

Louis Glass, composer

About:

Louis Glass (1864-1936) was one of the most important composers of the Late Romantic period in Denmark. He was a contemporary of Carl Nielsen, but there is a certain opposition between their musical styles due to the influence on Glass of César Franck and Antopn Bruckner. Louis Glass was an outstanding pianist and teacher, and his effortless command of the instrument is demonstrated in the works on this disc.
