Dorian Keilhack

Dorian Keilhack (musical director). Born in Erlangen, Germany. Studied piano and conducting in Nuremberg, Freiburg, Paris and at the Juilliard School in New York. Has won prizes at international piano competitions, and has appeared as a pianist with orchestras like the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonie Krakau and Dortmunder Staatsorchester. Between 1999 and 2005 he was solo repetiteur at Theater Nürnberg, conductor and assistant to the musical director at the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck, artistic director of the Tiroler Ensemble für Neue Music; in 2005- 2008 conductor at Theater Erfurt. Collaborations with orchestras in Lübeck, Meiningen, Schwerin and Regensburg. In 2004 he was honoured at the Augenspiel-Theater Hall for his Oedipus Rex with the Prize of the Austrian State for best production. Today Dorian Keilhack is principal conductor at the Stadttheater Bern and has been musical director of productions of The Divine Circus, Die Fledermaus, L’elisir d’amore, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Barber of Seville.
