Trio con Brio present new CD on US tour

The prizewinning Danish ensemble Trio con Brio Copenhagen will be bringing their first recording of Nordic repertoire to the Kennedy Center's prestigious "Nordic Cool Festival" - and on US Tour to include California and Tennessee.

Trio con Brio Copenhagen, consisting of Danish pianist Jens Elvekjaer and the Korean sisters Soo-Jin Hong (violin) and Soo-Kyung Hong (cello) have already established themselves as one of today's finest chamber groups on the international concert scene as well as on the CD market. Now a new era has come for the Danish ensemble as they focus on the finest contemporary Nordic repertoire on a new CD for the Danish national recording label Dacapo Records.

On 13 March, Trio con Brio Copenhagen will perform at the Kennedy Center's prestigious Nordic Cool Festival as the only visiting chamber ensemble. The opening piece of the concert is also the title work on their new CD, presenting the world premiere recording of Bent Sørensen's work Phantasmagoria, written especially for Trio con Brio in 2007.

Following the Nordic Cool concert, Trio con Brio Copenhagen will be touring the US bringing their brand new CD Phantasmagoria - Danish Piano Trios which is to be released officially in USA in May 2013.

About the CD Phantasmagoria - Danish Piano Trios

The three Danish composers Per Nørgård, Bent Sørensen and Hans Abrahamsen have all created new, visionary forms of musical expression, while also managing to renew a deep Romantic yearning to contain the intangible and the mysterious. In this new recording, Trio con Brio Copenhagen displays a keen awareness of the dreamlike idiom of the three composers, their magically charged sensitivity and sophisticated musical character sketches. This is music that transcends the now and stretches far into eternity.
