Peter Grønlund

tenor
Peter Grønlund trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and at the Opera Academy. He has also studied with teachers like Nicolai Gedda, Peter Pears and Owen Brown. Immediately after graduating he was engaged by the Opera in Münster, where he sang many leading lyric tenor roles including Ferrando in Così fan tutte. In 1992-94 Peter Grønlund was a member of the Opera in Innsbruck, where he sang in works like Donizetti's The Daughter of the Regiment and Bellini's La Sonnambula. In Innsbruck, too, he appeared in the first performance of Carl Nielsen's Maskarade outside Scandinavia. In 1992 he guested at the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni. In 1994-95 Peter Grønlund was with the National Theatre in Mannheim as a Iyric tenor, and he now works freelance. Even in his student days he was very much in demand as an oratono soloist, and as such he has appeared with orchestras in Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Denmark and the other Scandinavian countries.
