Born in Norway in 1970, Roggen has a music degree from the University of Oslo and will finish her three-yearcourse in pratical jazz improvisation at the Music Conservatoire un Trondheim. Roggen grew up singing Nordic and Spanish ballads and started playing the violin at six. She played in amateur string/symphony orchestras and took lessons in classical song before gradually moving towards her current career as a rhythmic vocalist in the broadest sense of the phrase. She is currently playing with the band TU-BA, where the material is original and written for a duo of tuba and vocals. She also works with the band Wibutee, an experimental fusion of triphop and jazz; Gato Preto, a Brazilian samba-pop group; and Come Shine, playing standard jazz material for piano trio and vocal. She is also a freelance soloist and backing vocalist, and teaches jazz singing.
