Composer, arranger, pianist, clarinetist and conductor Joan Albert Amargós was born in Barcelona 1950. His music is inspired by the light and colour of the Mediterranean. One can always hear from the music’s aesthetic multiplicity that he masters classical, jazz and flamenco music. The melodic lines, rhythmical counterpoint and complex harmonies are his preference. His compositions include chamber music, orchestra works, solo concertos, works for big
bands and choir music. Joan Albert Amargós has received a large numbers of awards. As a conductor, orchestrator and arranger he has worked with musicians such as Plácido Domingo, El Camarón de la Isla, Paco de Lucía, Tomatito, Gary Burton, and Katia and Marielle Labèque.
