Jens Elvekjær has established himself as one of the most sought after pianists, both nationally and internationally. Already as a student (in Arhus, Vienna, Salzburg and Cologne), he won prizes in many major international competitions both as a soloist and chamber musician. In 2005, Jens Elvekjær became the first Danish pianist named Steinway Artist. He has played in most of Europe, Asia and North America including with orchestras such as Leipziger Kammerorchester, Folkwang Kammerorchester Essen, l'Orchestre Syrinx, National Symphony Orchestra and many others. Moreover, he made radio and television productions for the Danish Radio, Korean Broadcasting Systems, ARD, NDR , Deutschland Radio Berlin, NRK, SR, Hessischer Rundfunk, RAI and the BBC .
Jens Elvekjær is a member of the successful piano trio, Trio con Brio Copenhagen, with whom he in 2005 received the prestigious chamber music scholarship Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award. He has taught at master classes and courses at the Trondheim International Chamber Music Festival, the Music Conservatory in Kristiansand, Norway, the Kuhmo Festival in Finland and in Skælskør, Denmark.
Jens Elvekjær has received numerous awards including YMFE scholarship, Van Hauen Scholarship and Børge Schroder Memorial Scholarship.
