Henrik Vagn Christensen trained at the academies of music in Aalborg, Aarhus and Copenhagen with the conductors Jorma Panula, Frans Rasmussen and Tamás Vetö, and has studied in Stockholm and London. In 1994 he made his debut from the soloist class with the Copenhagen Philharmonic. Henrik Vagn Christensen regularly conducts all the Danish orchestras and chamber ensembles and has often appeared as a guest conductor abroad, mainly in Scandinavia. He is also involved in a number of productions at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. His repertoire is large and ranges wide, and Henrik Vagn Christensen tries to divide his time among symphonic concerts, opera, ballet and contemporary music, which has resulted in among other things a succession of striking CD recordings of contemporary Danish music.
