Erik Højsgaard

composer
1954
Højsgaard was a pupil of Per Nørgård, and as early as the age of 20 aroused attention with his first string quartet. His music is decidedly lyrical, atmospheric and accessible, but at the same time he takes a great deal of care with the actual technical elements of composition. Since 1982 he has taught at The Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
