Åsa Bäverstam

soprano
Åsa Bäverstam was born in Sweden. In 1990 she concluded her studies and was immediately engaged by the opera in Basel where she appeared as Adina in L'Elisir d'Amore and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. In Denmark she has performed in, among other works, the St. John Passion conducted by Peter Schreier, and sang the soprano part in the Christmas Oratorio under Eric Ericson. While she was still studying - first at the Jutland Academy of Music, then at the Opera Academy in Copenhagen - Åsa Bäverstam was also frequently used as a soloist. Her repertoire includes classical oratorio and opera as well as contemporary music.
