Steffen Kubach (baritone). Born in Waiblingen near Stuttgart. Studied singing in Stuttgart and Mannheim. Master courses with Christa Ludwig, Walter Berry and Thomas Quasthoff. Twice winner of the Erika Köth Competition, grants from Friedrich Naumann Stiftung and Richard Wagner Verband. Since 2000 member of the ensemble at Lübeck Theater, where he has sung among other roles Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Figaro in The Barber of Seville and in The Marriage of Figaro, Tsar Peter in Zar und Zimmermann, Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, Zaza in LaCage aux Folles, the Emcee in Cabaret and Javert in Les Misérables. Guest appearances as Petruchio in Kiss Me Kate in Aachen and as Schaunard in La Bohème as well as Papageno in The Magic Flute at Opera Ireland in Dublin
