Mathias Hedegaard (tenor) studied with Kirsten Buhl at the Royal Danish Opera Academy in Copenhagen, gra duating in 2007. He made his debut at the Royal Theatre in 2006 as Gastone in "La traviata" and has since appeared there in the title-role in "Orfeo." Mathias Hedegaard has been a soloist with most of the Danish symphony orchestras, Concerto Copenhagen and orchestras in Sweden and Germany, and has worked with conductors such as Adam Fischer, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Christoph Eberle and Roy Goodman. He is also in demand as a Lieder singer and has given much acclaimed recitals throughout Denmark. Mathias Hedegaard's recordings include two Dacapo discs featuring songs by C.E.F. Weyse and Danish serenades and romances with the Danish National Chamber Orchestra under Adam Fischer. He received the Gladsaxe Music Prize in 2006, the Axel Schiøtz Prize the same year and the Artist's Prize of the Danish Music Reviewers' Club in 2007.
