Jens Elvekjær (piano) has made a name in recent years as one of the most sought-after pianists in Denmark. He trained in Århus, Salzburg, Vienna, Florence and Budapest. With the Alban Berg Quartet of Cologne the pianist has appeared very successfully in leading concert halls in Europe, the USA and Asia. In 2005 Jens Elvekjær was the first Danish pianist ever to be named a Steinway Artist. He has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician all over Europe, in the USA and in Asia. He has been awarded many prizes as both a soloist and chamber musician, including the ARD Wettbewerb, the American Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award, first prizes in the Austrian Brahms Competition, the Vittorio Gui Prize (Florence), the Trondheim Chamber Music Competition and the DR Chamber Music Competition (Denmark).
